Ask any one of my family members what they want for dinner and 9 times out of 10 the answer will be “PIZZA! PIZZA! PIZZA!” (The other time it’s McDonald’s. My life is so glamorous.)
Isaac even loves it. (Yes, I know he’ll only be 9 months old on Saturday. He’s a fourth child. And he desperately wants to eat what we eat at dinner. So don’t judge.)
So once a week I call Adam and
beg ask him to bring dinner home. I save that call for a day when I really have NO ability to get dinner made and still keep my sanity. The problem is that the pizza places around our house are either expensive, specialty pizza restaurants or college-budget chains. And while I would love the first, our budget (and honestly the rest of my family) prefers the second.
Therefore, once a week I feed my kids take-out pizza made with who-knows-what ingredients. Which totally doesn’t jive with my plan for the other 6 nights a week.
Want to know what I did last night? I popped in two frozen pizzas instead of calling Adam to bring home that chain pizza.
I know you just thought “EWWW. Frozen pizza.” Don’t lie.
