Disney World : Animal Kingdom : Day 5

Our last (half) day was spent at Animal Kingdom, which seriously, I cannot tell you how bummed I was that we had to leave at 1pm. If we ever go again, we’re doing Animal Kingdom for a whole day. We totally loved it – we’re such zoo people and this was like a zoo on steroids. Super cool for us.

Adam and the kids loved this window - they were amazed at how many fish were in there!

Love this pic of the girls together.

Just a sweet picture I wanted to share. :)

Lucas loved these spinning, up and down rides.

This is our last picture of Cameran with two top teeth. One of her teeth fell out while running at a rest stop on the drive home. :)

I think I’ll actually *write* something about our trip to Disney at some point. Maybe. We had such a great time and I would love to go back again sometime. Just not anytime soon. It was exhausting.

Disney World : Day 4 : Magic Kingdom Round 2

Two more days of Disney updates and then I really need to write something. Like *write* something. I miss it.

And so, lots of pics to share from our second and final day at Magic Kingdom. I had more fun the first day there, but got some great pics this day. 🙂

We started our morning with a great character breakfast. Tigger was so soft!

So let me tell you about this Mary Poppins quickly. We saw this same Mary Poppins our first day at Epcot – she was leaving her post and asked Alaina if she’d like to “take a stroll” with her. And off Alaina walked, with only Mary Poppins, down the sidewalk, carrying her umbrella even. And then she’s the SAME Mary Poppins at our breakfast, and she was just as charming and amazing as our first encounter with her, having a solo talk with Lucas about manners a boy should have, then kissing his hand before she hugged him good bye. She should be the Disney employee of the year.

I'm fairly certain that maybe Alice was Lucas's birth-mother and not me. It's crazy how much they look alike!

I so love this picture. Wish Cami would have been in it too (but we were behind them riding together).

Finally!!! Micky Mouse!!!

I don't know why I like this picture so much, but as big as Tangled has become, there were very few Rapunzel opportunities.

I add this picture only because Adam wanted Lucas in the picture so badly that he was LIFTING him up DURING the ride. I totally freaked out.

I’m a hip hop dancer. {review}

HHX_LOGO_HiRes

Thank you to Ubisoft for sponsoring this post. Please visit Ubi.com to learn more about Ubisoft. I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective. #UbiChamps

When I was in high school, one of my nicknames was “K-Dog.” I like to pretend it was because I was this awesome dancer, especially when it came to my favorite hip hop music (which was almost all I listened to during those formative 4 years).

So when I got the opportunity to review The Hip Hop Dance Experience Wii game by Ubisoft, I jumped on it. Because of course I’m just as good of a dancer as I was 18 years ago.

You guys, the music is TO. DIE. FOR. on this game if you like hip hop / R&B music. Some of my faves: Da Brat’s “Funkdafied”, Jay Sean feat. Lil Wayne’s “Down”, B.O.B feat. Hayley Williams of Paramore’s “Airplanes”, New Edition’s “If it isn’t Love” and TLC’s “Creep”. I could totally go on about the music. It’s so amazing. (It also includes Adam’s favorite – “Sexy and I Know It.” Vomit.)

Here’s the thing. It’s hard. There’s an option to learn what all the dance moves are by name (because that’s how they tell you what’s coming next) and I would totally suggest you learn EVERY. ONE. before really playing the game. I would have done a TON better if I had realized that before watching Adam play tonight.

But it’s so fun. It’s just not for your tween to play with you, even if she is taking a hip hop class and loves the music. Take my word for it. This is a “Teen” rated game.

So here’s what you’ve been waiting for: a video of me, trying to play this game for the first time.

You didn’t really think I’d show you the whole thing, right? I’m pregnant dude. You don’t want to see me dancing to “Down” which is one of the hardest on the game. I promise.

By the way, the game is on sale here for only $29.99 right now. You should snatch it up and then we’ll battle once we know the current dance moves for this new hip hop generation. I promise I won’t video tape it. 🙂

Disney World : Day 3 : Hollywood Studios

The weather was horrible. Misting rain all day and chilly. Even though it was warmer than Indy, it was cold for what we wanted for Florida!

The good thing is that most of Hollywood Studios is indoors. Lots of shows (including my favorite show of our entire trip – a Little Mermaid life-size puppet show with a real live Ariel singing – all acting out parts of the movie) and things to do to get away from the weather. And tons of characters the kids watch on TV and in movies. Super fun for them. And really, super fun for me and Adam too.

Seeing Lightning was one of the highlights for me because Lucas was SO excited.

This show totally annoys me, but all three kids love it. And were so happy to see Phineas and Ferb there!

We ate dinner at an amazing Italian restaurant that night. The chef was so great in making me gluten-free rolls, dinner and dessert and Cami even got a Spaghetti and Meatballs cupcake for dessert! (It was so good!!!)

Lucas and I went back to visit Lightning one last time while Adam and the girls went on a ride we couldn't go on. When we walked away, Lucas waved goodbye, jumped around and said "Ka-chow!"

This totally amazed me. They had one street that was covered in lights - every single building, from top to bottom and side to side. COVERED in lights. All set to music every 15 minutes. It was so beautiful.

Day 4, back at Magic Kingdom, tomorrow. I’m loving looking at all these pics again! 🙂

Disney World : Day 2 : Magic Kingdom

Our first full day in Disney was spent at Magic Kingdom – and I think it was my favorite day of the whole trip. While we didn’t see many characters, we spent the day in Tomorrowland and Fantasyland and went on a ton of rides with the kids.

Cami and I liked the People Mover. Just what our tired bodies needed.

Alaina couldn't wait to ride Space Mountain. She'd been hearing about it for YEARS from all of her friends!

We sat on the Carousel waiting for it to start moving for longer than the actual ride. The kids didn't care though.

The waitress at dinner brought Adam a Coke in a jar the size of Cami's head. We thought it was funny. We thought it was even funnier about 30 min. later when we realized that NO ONE ELSE in the restaurant had one that big. :)

Disney World : Day 1 : Epcot

We just returned from our first trip to Disney World with the kids. The last time Adam and I were there was when I was pregnant with Alaina. So much fun, so many memories, SO. MUCH. WALKING. I mean, really, there’s a reason I could count on one hand the number of pregnant women I saw at Disney over 5 days. Holy cow – it kicked this pregnant woman’s butt.

But it was totally worth it.

So my thought was that I’d pick some of my favorite pictures to share, but as I started going through them tonight, I realized that THERE ARE TOO MANY!! So tonight I’m sharing a few from our first day in Disney World, which we spent at Epcot.

The kids' first encounter/picture with a character.

Lucas received his first kiss at Epcot – and from Cinderella! It prompted him to give a kiss on the cheek to each of the following three princesses who visited our table during dinner.

I can’t wait for you to see some glimpses from the rest of our trip. It’s so fun going through all of our pictures and reliving the kids’ joy from being there. I’m still amazed at how much they enjoyed being there, especially Alaina (afraid that at 10 she’d be too old to feel the “magic”) and Lucas (afraid that at 2 he’d be too young to feel the “magic”). So thankful I was wrong.
